Economy

In the beginning Jamestown was not such a good colony. Their economy was so horrible that many of the workers and gentlemen where staving to death. There was only 38 out of the 105 setlers, survived because of starvation and disease. Two years later only 60 survived the winter when there were 500 settlers before winter started.
In 1675 Jamestwon/Viginia was one of the most working colonies. It brought in more than 10 million pounds of tobacco every year. This gained the profit of £100,000.(£, is an english pound, a pound is what england calls money.) That earned more than Englands sugar revenues, run by the West Indies. In a result Jamestown's economy was very good and successful!
